Stupid Is As Stupid Does

From Feith: Powell Should Have Told Bush How Stupid I Am by Ben:

In his new book “War and Decision,” former Pentagon official and Iraq war architect Douglas Feith blames many of his former Bush administration colleagues for the war’s failures. He chastizes former Secretary of State Colin Powell for “never express[ing] opposition to the invasion,” arguing that the war could have been avoided entirely if Powell had “persuaded the president” against overthrowing Saddam Hussein.

On Fox News this weekend, Feith again went after Powell, but this time, his criticism came with a slight twist. In the span of less than one minute, Feith attacked Powell for not strongly opposing the war — as he does in his book — but he then immediately criticized him for not “wholeheartedly support[ing] it” agreeing with host Paul Gigot that Powell’s “lack of support undermined” the war effort.

Presidential Experience

From Quote Of The Day by Mori Dinauer:

"He didn't have a lot of experience in running a presidential campaign, did he."

--Colin Powell, when asked about Barack Obama's lack of executive experience.

What I like about the quote is that it neatly sums up the paradox of bringing "experience" to the presidency. When it comes right down to it, the only people who ever have the relevant experience for the presidency are ex- or single-term presidents.
Hillary Clinton claims that she has experience because she is the wife of a president. Let’s remember that George W. Bush is the son of a president. How much has that “experience” benefited the United States?

I Think We're All Bozos On This Bus

Actually it is just all of our so-called “leaders” who are the Bozos and they are sending the bus toward the tallest cliff at full speed.

Here is Colin Powell speaking to Wolf Blitzer on CNN:

Frankly, we've lost a lot in recent years. I am going to be looking for the candidate that seems to me to be leading a party that is fully in sync with the candidate, and a party that will also reflect America's goodness and America's vision.
Obviously, Colin Powell has never heard of “First do no harm”. How could he possibly have aligned himself with Bush and Cheney if he believes in “America’s goodness and America’s vision”.

And what does this say about Colin Powell:
And I will be looking for the candidate that I think will be the most competent candidate. The one who can deal with problems and bring the government together with the Congress to solve these problems. And so I know them all. I am a Republican, but I am keeping my options open at the moment.
Is he talking about the government of Mars here? The last time I checked the Congress was part of our government. This man scares me. Why didn’t he look for the most competent candidate the last time around? Yet another incompetent buffoon from the Bush administration and the Republican Right-wing who, like Tom Delay, STILL manages to get on television to be asked for his words of “wisdom”.

When will we ever learn?
