Crazy Christian Conservatives Are Clearly Different From Hillary And Bernie

Clinton, Sanders call out legacy of racism in America:

Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders pledged Tuesday to tackle long-standing racial divisions in the United States during their final joint event before Saturday’s Democratic primary in South Carolina, where 60 percent of likely voters are African Americans.

Sanders accused Republicans, including GOP front-runner Donald Trump, of leading a racist effort to try to de-legitimize the nation’s first black president by questioning Barack Obama’s birthplace. Sanders noted his father came from Poland, but that "nobody has asked for my birth certificate. Maybe it’s the color of my skin."

“Do I think that, at least in some parts of that Republican base, there is race involved in that? Absolutely.” he said.

There is proof of climate change and there is proof of racism in America. Republicans deny both. There is no proof of God or that America was founded as a Christian nation, yet Republicans believe both. Crazy, isn't it?

Hate Speech And Hillary Clinton

I have a confession to make: I can’t keep up.

Am I supposed to hate Hillary Rodham Clinton because she’s too left-wing, or too right-wing? Because she’s too feminist, or not feminist enough? Because she’s too clever a politician, or too clumsy?

Am I supposed to be mad that she gave speeches to rich bankers, or that she charged them too much money?

I’m up here in New Hampshire watching her talk to a group of supporters, and I realized that I have been following this woman’s career for more than half my life. No, not just my adult life: the whole shebang. She came onto the national scene when I was a young man.

And for all that time, there has been a deafening chorus of critics telling me that she’s just the most wicked, evil, Machiavellian, nefarious individual in American history. She has “the soul of an East German border guard,” in the words of that nice Grover Norquist. She’s a “bitch,” in the words of that nice Newt Gingrich. She’s a “dragon lady.” She’s “Elena Ceaușescu.” She’s “the Lady Macbeth of Little Rock.”

Long before “Benghazi” and her email server, there was “Whitewater” and “the Rose Law Firm” and “Vince Foster.” For those of us following her, we were promised scandal after scandal after scandal. And if no actual evidence ever turned up, well, that just proved how deviously clever she was.

Hillary Clinton must have borrowed some teflon from Bill long ago. The continuous heaping of hate directed toward Hillary Clinton must be one of those Republican "time-loop" things.

It's no wonder that so many Republicans are religious, they can listen to the same nonsense over and over again, and believe in it without any evidence.

Cal Thomas Has An Immunity To The Republican Virus

Bernie and Hillary’s America:

Watching last Thursday’s debate between Democratic presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders, one might have thought a Republican had been in the White House for nearly eight years.

Hearing their complaints about the economy (bad), discrimination (rampant), health care (too many without it), unemployment (too many not working or working at low-paying jobs), it appeared hope had died and change is all we have left in our pockets.

To hear these two ultra-liberals tell it, we are a horrible, miserable, evil nation. We are bigots, we are greedy because we won’t surrender more of our income to the government gods, we hate anyone who isn’t white, male and heterosexual, and we want to deport everyone who isn’t a Christian.

I wouldn’t want to live in a country like that, would you? But that is not who we are. It is only who Democrats think we are.

Obviously, Cal Thomas is immune to nearly everything that nearly every Republican candidate has been saying for the last several years since around the time Lincoln left office. Why does Donald Trump want to make America great again? Obviously, he thinks things aren't so great. If the Republicans can complain about the economy, discrimination (reverse that is), and health care, then why can't the Democrats?

We are a horrible, miserable, evil nation. We are bigots, we are greedy because we won’t surrender more of our income to the government gods, we hate anyone who isn’t white, male and heterosexual, and we want to deport everyone who isn’t a Christian. This is exactly why Donald Trump is so popular. It is his platform.

I don't think that Cal Thomas has paid attention to presidential races before. All candidates say that everything sucks, vote for me and things won't suck. Every one of them says this, Republicans, Democrats, and Independents. It's called politics in America.

Wall Street has made Hillary Clinton a millionaire:

Clinton made $3.15 million in 2013 alone from speaking to firms like Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank and UBS, according to the list her campaign released of her speaking fees.

"Her closeness with big banks on Wall Street is sincere, it's heart-felt, long-established and well known," former Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley has said on the campaign trail.

While Clinton has given paid speeches to many groups, Wall Street banks and investment houses made up a third of her speech income.

She even made more money speaking to UBS and Goldman Sachs than her husband Bill did. Goldman Sachs in New York paid Bill $200,000 for a speech in June 2013 and Hillary $225,000 for a speech in October of that year.

I wonder why the headline wasn't Wall Street has made Hillary Clinton a multi-millionaire?

I can't believe that anyone's speech is worth so much money. I think that Wall Street is paying for something else.

Why can't poor people run the country for a change. There are probably plenty of adjunct professors that have plenty of good ideas.

Hillary Rodham Clinton Wants To Do Something About Stuff Happening

Clinton pushing new gun controls after Oregon shooting:

Days after a deadly shooting in Oregon, Hillary Rodham Clinton unveiled new gun control measures Monday aimed at strengthening background checks on gun buyers and eliminating legal immunity for sellers.

During a daylong campaign swing through New Hampshire, Clinton proposed a repeal of legislation that shields gun manufacturers, distributors and dealers from most liability suits, even in the case of mass shootings like the one that killed nine people at a community college on Thursday.

Clinton has made strengthening gun laws a centerpiece of her presidential campaign, vowing she would use her executive power as president to expand background checks for sellers at gun shows and online and back legislation banning domestic abusers from purchasing guns.

"I will try every way I can to get those guns out of the hands of people who shouldn't have them," she told voters gathered for a pancake breakfast town hall meeting in Hollis, New Hampshire. "We need to prevent these kinds of terrible crimes that are happening."

Somehow, this seems more presidential than the Alfred E. Neuman type response of Jeb Bush and Donald Trump.

We need to stop all of these killings! A good start would be to kill the NRA.

Sarah The Pit Bull

I think the women’s movement still has a way to go. After all, the two most prominent female politicians of 2008 are frequently referred to by terms that are usually reserved for canines.

I really am puzzled by the “Pit Bull” statement by Sarah Palin. If a man refers to a woman as a dog, it is objectionable. Yet when Sarah Palin likens herself to a dog it is a wonderful thing. Pit Bulls are butt ugly and mean. Is Sarah Palin saying that she is butt ugly and mean? Since when did being butt ugly and mean become qualities we seek in a Vice President? Is it because of Dick Cheney who, after all, is butt ugly and mean? Do we really want another Dick Cheney as VP?

What does it say about the Republican Right when they seem content with this practice of comparing women to dogs? After all, they seem to see nothing wrong with calling a strong-willed Democratic woman such as Hillary Clinton a bitch. And they seem to see nothing wrong with Sarah Palin calling herself a Pit Bull. I find it all to be extremely confusing. In the case of Hillary Clinton it is supposed to be a put-down, in the case of Sarah Palin it is supposed to be praise. Both Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin seem to be strong-willed women. Does this mean that the terms are interchangeable? Does this mean that Hillary Clinton is a Pit Bull? Does this mean I can call Sarah Palin a bitch, and if I do, what exactly would it mean?

A larger question about all of this is also on my mind. Why do voters fall for all of this stupidity?

If this is true it will unfortunately mean more support for McCain/Palin from racist, sexist American voters. The kind of voters who were morally outraged by Bill Clinton’s sexual antics, but are never outraged by any of the immoral statements and actions of various Republican politicians, lobbyists, and “journalists.”

This is how Republican Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin described Barack Obama’s win over Hillary Clinton to political colleagues in a restaurant a few days after Obama locked up the Democratic Party presidential nomination.

According to Lucille, the waitress serving her table at the time and who asked that her last name not be used, Gov. Palin was eating lunch with five or six people when the subject of the Democrat’s primary battle came up. The governor, seemingly not caring that people at nearby tables would likely hear her, uttered the slur and then laughed loudly as her meal mates joined in appreciatively.

If Barack Obama had picked Hillary Clinton as his running mate. We would end up with the first woman VP, no matter which side wins in November.

No Way

There is no way that I will send money to help Hillary Clinton repay her debt, and that is that. She dug this hole herself and she can deal with it herself without any help from me.

Sometimes Obama says really stupid things. This is one of them.

Democracy Should Not Be Complicated

Are you confused about the election process in the United States? So am I. The more convoluted and less understandable a voting process is, the less democratic it becomes. When the rich and powerful can play shell games with democracy it is the poor and the not powerful that suffer the consequences the most.

Clinton's claim to winning the popular vote is debatable. Including the results from Clinton’s big win in Puerto Rico, she can only be considered the popular vote winner if the results from Michigan (where Obama was not on the ballot) are counted for her and Obama is awarded no votes from that state. But 237,762 voted "uncommitted" in that contest and the Obama campaign argues many of them were supporters of the Illinois senator.

As a generation of young feminists realizes, the values once thought to be uniquely and genetically female – such as compassion and an aversion to violence – can be found in either sex, and sometimes it’s a man who best upholds them.

Black Folks Can Hear That Dog Whistle Too

Perhaps no one in the Clinton campaign understands this, so let me make it plain. Black folks can hear that dog whistle too. I guarantee that in Black homes across America, where two or more are gathered and listened to that interview, one turned to the others and asked “You all heard that, right?” And the answer came back, “Mmmm hmmm,” followed by a collective sigh.

There is history in that sigh. I used to wonder, growing up, why some of the older folks I saw at church would shout and cry as if something traumatic had happened to them, and I always wondered what that trauma was. Now I think I understand. What the Clinton campaign is attempting to telegraph to white (and specifically southern) Americans is something those Black folks I witnessed shouting and crying had to hear every day, from people they knew and in many cases worked for. And for generations they had to quietly absorb it.

What is the Clinton campaign saying with its dog whistle to white Americans? In the bluntest terms, the Clinton campaign is saying to those who can hear their dog whistle: “That uppity nigger thinks he’s better than you. That black sonofabitch thinks he’s smarter than you. Are you really gonna let that boy run your country?”

Does the Clinton campaign think Black Americans don’t hear that dog whistle?

Despite the inevitable drubbing I will receive from my mother and uncle, I have decided that if you somehow wrest the nomination away from Barack Obama, I will not cast my vote for you in the general election.
