Why does Sourcewatch.org have pages for Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh, but none for Jon Stewart?
From Jim Cramer fires back at Jon Stewart amid debate over financial coverage by Matea Gold:
The ongoing economic crisis has now spawned another contretemps: a full-blown media feud between “Daily Show” host Jon Stewart and CNBC pundit Jim Cramer.Read the rest here.
As the two television personalities exchanged retorts on the air this week, a broader debate is raging about whether the financial press did an adequate job covering Wall Street’s handling of the complex transactions that precipitated the current recession. CNBC, the most prominent business news network, has come in for a large share of criticism that the media failed to alert the public to the system’s precarious footing.
From Comic rips media's false sense of urgency by Joe Garofoli:
It is a telling media milepost as political convention TV coverage unfolds over the next two weeks: Jon Stewart is now the dean of commercial network political convention anchors. The old guard is either retired, deceased or disgraced.Read the rest here.
Like everything on Stewart's Comedy Central network, the line about his status as an anchor is uttered with mock gravitas and a raised eyebrow by the cable network's publicists and show staffers. But behind Stewart's wink is a serious passion about holding government accountable and the need for aggressive reporting that he rarely shows publicly. This week he did.
It really is all about fear and the truth isn’t it? Whites really are afraid of blacks, as well they should be. Mistreating and abusing someone for a long time does not really breed love. And although few want to admit it, Jeremiah Wright is expressing the truth more often than not.
Whenever I think of Wrightgate I see images of Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Charles Krauthammer, Ann Coulter, David Brooks, etc. They are all cowering in a corner and a person who is a morph of Jeremiah Wright and Jack Nicholson is bellowing at them: “You can’t handle the truth!!!” And they cower even more.
Jon Stewart does the scared whitey bit pretty well here:
Jon Stewart reminds us that Bush is still president. Unlike Mr. Stewart, Bush still bothers me. My favorite part is the “From your lips to your ears” segment. The disconnect between Bush’s brain and Bush’s mouth is unbelievable.
