Does Size Really Matter?

I hate symbols. I really do. For those who believe in them, what does it say about politicians who wear tiny flag lapel pins when instead they could be unfurling a 75 feet by 150 feet monster everywhere they go. Shhh, don’t give them any ideas!

And as fans salute their heroes, the former players will join the crowd in saluting the American flag — one that is roughly 75 feet by 150 feet, as long as a 15-story building is tall, spread horizontally over the Yankee Stadium turf.

Could Our Government Be Any More Lame?

Talk about wasting time and money.

Bush just signed into law a bill to encourage flying the flag on Father's Day. Never mind why it should be Father's Day - I think we can all get the picture on that. But, WTF? Laws are meant to insist, not "encourage", aren't they?

They've been at this one for a while. It appears it was put up for bid at least a year ago. Could Congress have possibly wasted any time more valuable than we have been living through these past years when serious issues have been bombarding us right and left?
