McCain's Gas Plan Stinks

John McCain is probably the only person who thinks this is a good idea. Why does he keep touting it?

From McCain resurrects call for gas tax holiday:

With gas prices reaching a national average of four dollars a gallon — a record high — John McCain is planning to resurrect his call for a national gas tax holiday, which became a staple of his stump speech in late April and early May.
"I don't pretend that it's an answer to our energy problems," he said.
Instead, McCain argued, low-income families could save some extra cash to pay for their children’s school supplies this fall, or perhaps treat themselves to a nice dinner.
After that dinner, then what?

We Have No Energy Strategy

From So I'm Not Nuts:

And McCain and Clinton want to suspend funding to fix highways and interstates which are also in disrepair. What the hell good is saving us $2.78 a week when there are no decent roads to drive on anyway? The repairs to your suspension and your car's frame will be a hell of a lot more than $2.78 a week, folks.

As for the energy policies our out-of-touch feebs in Washington - on both sides - are "crafting," in two words, it sucks. They need to know from us.

This Is Good Obama

Obama tells voters the truth about the gas tax holiday and says it's time to investigate oil companies for price gouging and for Congress to adopt higher fuel efficiency standards and invest in alternative fuels:

There is one thing I would like to add to what Barack Obama says. The poorest people are the ones hit the hardest by high energy prices. The politicians in Washington should raise the minimum wage and add a provision that ties the minimum wage to inflation.
